Beef and Cabbage Stir-Fry with Ginger

Ingredients
  

  • For the Stir-Fry:
  • 450 g beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • For the Sauce:
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp water or beef broth
  • 1 tsp cornstarch

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, water, and cornstarch until smooth.
  • Cook the Beef: Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add beef and stir-fry until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Cook the Vegetables: In the same pan, add onion, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry until fragrant, then add cabbage and cook until slightly tender.
  • Combine and Finish: Return beef to the pan, pour in the sauce, and toss until everything is well coated and glossy.
