Ingredients

  • For the Cajun Blackened Salmon:
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each), skin-on or skinless
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter for searing
  • For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Preparing the Cajun Blackened Salmon: Pat salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Rub the spice mixture evenly over all sides of the salmon fillets. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear salmon fillets 3–4 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until blackened crust forms and fish flakes easily with a fork. Remove salmon from the pan and set aside.
  • Preparing the Creamy Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30–60 seconds until fragrant. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Add Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and sauce thickens. Season with lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste. Return salmon to the skillet briefly to coat with sauce if desired.
