  • 1 can (10.5 oz / 300 g) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 2/3 cup whole milk (or half-and-half for creamier texture)
  • 1 tsp soy sauce (optional, for depth of flavor)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/3 cups crispy fried onions (divided)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for a cheesy version)

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Preheat Oven : Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Step 2: Prepare Green Beans: Fresh beans: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 4–5 minutes until crisp-tender. Drain and set aside.Canned beans: Drain well and skip boiling.
  • Step 3: Mix the Sauce : In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce (if using), pepper, and half of the crispy onions.If adding cheddar cheese, stir it into the mixture now.
  • Step 4: Combine and Assemble : Add green beans to the sauce mixture and stir until evenly coated.Transfer to a greased 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
