Ingredients

  • For the Whipped Cream:
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For Serving:
  • Fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • Maple syrup or honey
  • Optional: chocolate shavings, nuts

Instructions
 

  • Preheat Waffle Iron: Preheat according to manufacturer instructions and lightly grease with butter or oil.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together egg yolks, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Whip Egg Whites: In a clean bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold into the batter to make waffles airy and light.
  • Cook Waffles: Pour batter into preheated waffle iron (about ½–¾ cup per waffle depending on size). Cook according to your waffle iron instructions until golden brown and crisp.
  • Prepare Whipped Cream: In a chilled bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  • Serve Waffles: Top waffles with freshly whipped cream and berries. Drizzle with maple syrup or honey.
