- For the Fettuccine Alfredo
- 12 oz (340 g) fettuccine pasta
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- For the Garlic Bread
- 1 French baguette or Italian loaf, sliced in half lengthwise
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
- Pinch of salt
Step 1: Cook the Fettuccine : Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
Step 2: Make the Alfredo Sauce : In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter.Addminced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant (do not brown). Pour in heavy cream and stir gently. Simmer for 3–4 minutes, then whisk in Parmesan cheese until smooth.Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat. If sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time.
Step 3: Prepare the Garlic Bread : Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and salt. Spread garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of bread. Place bread on a baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes, until golden and crisp. For extra crunch, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end.
Step 4: Serve : Plate the fettuccine Alfredo, sprinkle with parsley, and serve with hot garlic bread on the side. Add extra Parmesan for those who love a cheesy finish.
