- 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ tsp smoked paprika (optional for depth)
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional for spice)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Prepare the Shrimp: Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. This ensures they sear properly and absorb the garlic butter sauce.
Melt Butter and Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 30–45 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp in a single layer. Sprinkle with smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until shrimp turn pink and opaque.
Add Lemon and Herbs: Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the shrimp. Sprinkle chopped parsley on top and toss gently to coat the shrimp in the garlic butter sauce.
Serve Immediately: Remove from heat and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
