1 tbsp green onions, sliced (optional, for garnish)
For the Garlic Honey Butter Sauce:
2 tbsp unsalted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp honey
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp rice vinegar or lemon juice
1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional, for spice)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Salmon : Pat the salmon cubes dry with a paper towel — this helps them sear beautifully. Season lightly with salt and black pepper. Drizzle 1 tbsp soy sauce and toss gently to coat. Let it sit for 5 minutes to absorb flavor.
Step 2: Sear the Salmon Bites : Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon cubes in a single layer, making sure they don’t touch each other. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and slightly crispy on the edges. Remove from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
Step 3: Prepare the Garlic Honey Butter Sauce : In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Add butter and let it melt. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant (do not brown). Stir in honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar (or lemon juice), and chili flakes. Let the sauce simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened and glossy.
Step 4: Glaze the Salmon : Return the salmon bites to the skillet. Toss gently to coat each piece with the sauce. Let them simmer in the glaze for 1–2 minutes until caramelized and sticky.
Step 5: Garnish and Serve : Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and green onions. Serve immediately while warm and glossy.
