  • Tilapia fillets – 4 medium-sized, skinless
  • Parmesan cheese – ½ cup, freshly grated
  • Garlic – 3 to 4 cloves, finely minced
  • Butter – 3 tablespoons, melted
  • Olive oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Breadcrumbs – ¼ cup, preferably panko for extra crunch
  • Fresh parsley – 1 to 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon, plus lemon wedges for serving
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black pepper – to taste
  • Paprika – ½ teaspoon (optional, for mild heat and color)

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven and prepare your baking dish to prevent sticking.
  • Step 2: Dry the tilapia fillets thoroughly with paper towels to help the crust adhere better.
  • Step 3: Mix butter, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to create a flavorful base.
  • Step 4: Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly over each fillet.
  • Step 5: Combine Parmesan, breadcrumbs, parsley, and paprika in a separate bowl.
  • Step 6: Spread the cheese mixture generously over the fish, pressing lightly.
  • Step 7: Bake the tilapia until fully cooked and the crust is golden and crisp.
  • Step 8: Rest for a minute or two before serving to allow flavors to settle.
