Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 8 oz (225 g) goat cheese, softened
  • 3 tbsp honey, preferably raw or artisanal
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, roughly chopped and toasted
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional, for garnish)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Slice the Baguette: Cut your baguette into even 1/2-inch rounds to ensure consistent toasting.
  • Brush with Olive Oil: Lightly brush both sides of each slice with olive oil to achieve a golden, crisp texture.
  • Toast the Bread: Lay slices on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes.
  • Toast the Walnuts: In a dry skillet, toast chopped walnuts for 3–4 minutes until they release a fragrant aroma, stirring frequently to avoid burning.
  • Prepare Goat Cheese: Allow goat cheese to soften at room temperature for easy spreading.
  • Assemble the Crostini: Spread goat cheese on toasted baguette slices, drizzle honey, sprinkle toasted walnuts, and add optional herbs and seasoning.
  • Serve Immediately: Best served warm or at room temperature for maximum flavor and texture.
