Ingredients

  • For the Salmon Bites:
  • 1 lb (450 g) salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
  • For the Sticky Honey Garlic Soy Glaze:
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced (optional)
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional, for a mild kick)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (optional, for thicker glaze)
  • Garnish:
  • Sesame seeds
  • Chopped green onions

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Glaze: In a small bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, vinegar, and chili flakes. Mix well. Set aside.
  • Step 2: Cook the Salmon Bites: Heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Season salmon cubes with salt and pepper. Add salmon to the skillet and sear for 2–3 minutes per side, until lightly golden but not fully cooked.
  • Step 3: Add the Glaze: Reduce heat to medium and pour the honey garlic soy mixture over the salmon. Stir gently to coat salmon cubes in the glaze. If desired, add the cornstarch slurry to thicken the glaze slightly. Cook for another 2–3 minutes, until salmon is cooked through and the glaze is sticky.
