Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or blanched frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (or sesame oil for richer flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for sauce thickening)
  • For the Honey Garlic Sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 3–4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (optional but recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Make the Sauce : In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  • Step 2: Cook the Broccoli : Heat ½ tablespoon oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes, until bright green and slightly tender but still crisp. Remove broccoli from skillet and set aside.
  • Step 3: Cook the Shrimp : Add remaining ½ tablespoon oil to the skillet.Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.Remove shrimp and set aside with broccoli.
  • Step 4: Make the Honey Garlic Glaze : Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet.Simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened. (If you want it thicker, whisk cornstarch with 2 teaspoons water and stir in.)
  • Step 5: Combine and Serve : Add shrimp and broccoli back to the skillet. Toss to coat evenly in the sauce.Cook for 1 more minute to heat through.
