Ingredients

  • 1 bag (10–12 oz) tortilla chips
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade mix of chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper)
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or a blend of Monterey Jack and cheddar)
  • 1 cup canned black beans, rinsed and drained (optional)
  • 1 cup corn kernels (optional, fresh or frozen)

Toppings:

  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup red onion, finely chopped
  • ½ cup sliced black olives
  • ½ cup jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup salsa (mild, medium, or spicy depending on preference)
  • Guacamole (optional, but highly recommended)

Instructions
 

  • Cook ground beef with onions, garlic, taco seasoning, and water until fully cooked and saucy.
  • Arrange tortilla chips on a baking sheet.
  • Layer chips with beef, beans, corn, and cheese.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes until cheese melts.
  • Top with fresh veggies, sour cream, and salsa.
  • Serve immediately.
