Ingredients

  • For the Blondies:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
  • Optional Maple Glaze:
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1–2 tsp milk or cream (to adjust consistency)

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat Oven u0026 Prepare Pan : Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
  • Step 2: Brown the Butter : In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Continue cooking, swirling occasionally, until butter turns golden brown and smells nutty (about 5–7 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • Step 3: Mix Sugar and Browned Butter : In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar, granulated sugar, and browned butter until smooth and combined.
  • Step 4: Add Eggs, Vanilla, and Maple Syrup : Beat in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract and maple syrup. Mix until fully incorporated.
  • Step 5: Combine Dry Ingredients : In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Step 6: Fold in Pecans : Gently fold in toasted pecans, ensuring even distribution.
  • Step 7: Bake : Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out using parchment overhang and cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Step 8: Optional Maple Glaze : Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk or cream until smooth. Drizzle over cooled blondies and allow to set before slicing.
