- For the Churros
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- For the Cinnamon Sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
- For the Chocolate Dipping Sauce
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 4 oz (115 g) dark chocolate, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder (optional, for extra richness)
Heat water, sugar, butter, and salt in a saucepan until butter melts.
Add flour all at once and stir vigorously until dough forms a ball.
Remove from heat; mix in vanilla extract.
Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
Pipe dough into hot oil and fry until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels and roll in cinnamon sugar.
Heat cream and pour over chocolate to make dipping sauce.
Stir until smooth and glossy.
