For the Chocolate Donuts:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup milk (whole or 2%)
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup hot coffee (or hot water, for extra chocolate depth)
For the White Icing Wraps:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp milk (adjust to drizzle consistency)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Candy eyes (store-bought or homemade with icing)
Prepare the Batter Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, whisk egg, milk, oil, and vanilla. Slowly combine wet and dry ingredients. Add hot coffee and mix until smooth (batter will be thin).
Bake the Donuts Pour batter into a piping bag or ziplock with a cut corner. Fill each donut cavity about ¾ full. Bake for 12–15 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Make the White Icing Mix powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth. Adjust thickness: add more milk for thinner icing, more sugar for thicker.
Decorate the Mummy Donuts Drizzle icing in zig-zag, crisscross patterns across each donut to mimic mummy wraps. Stick 2 candy eyes onto each donut before the icing hardens.
