- 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- ¼ cup dry white wine (optional, can substitute chicken broth)
- ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- Lemon slices, for garnish
Prepare the Shrimp: Pat shrimp dry and season lightly with salt and black pepper.
Heat the Pan: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter with olive oil.
Sauté Garlic: Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook 30–45 seconds until fragrant.
Cook the Shrimp: Add shrimp in a single layer. Sauté 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the pan and set aside.
Make the Sauce: Pour in white wine (or broth) and lemon juice, scraping up any bits from the pan. Let it simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly reduced. Stir in remaining butter and lemon zest.
Combine and Finish: Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the lemon butter sauce. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
Serve: Plate shrimp and sauce, garnishing with lemon slices. Serve immediately over rice, pasta, or with crusty bread.
