4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz / 170 g each, skin-on preferred)
2 tbsp olive oil (for searing)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1/2 cup honey
3 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice (plus lemon wedges for serving)
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Prepare the salmon: Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
Make the honey garlic glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using).
Pan-sear the salmon: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place salmon fillets skin-side down and sear for 4–5 minutes, until golden and crispy. Flip and cook another 3–4 minutes on the other side, until nearly cooked through.
Add the glaze: Pour the honey garlic mixture into the skillet. Let it simmer and reduce slightly for 2–3 minutes, spooning the glaze over the salmon as it thickens.
Finish and garnish: Once the salmon is fully cooked (internal temp 145°F / 63°C), remove from heat. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
