Ingredients
  

For the Skewers

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes about 20 – ripe, sweet tomatoes provide vibrant color and juicy flavor.
  • 20 fresh mozzarella pearls bocconcini or ciliegine – creamy and mild, perfect for bite-sized skewers.
  • 20 fresh blueberries – add the patriotic blue color and a subtle sweetness.
  • 20 fresh basil leaves – fragrant and fresh bringing classic Caprese flavor.
  • 20 small wooden appetizer skewers or cocktail picks

For the Dressing

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil – enhances freshness.
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze – adds sweet and tangy richness.
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • Optional: pinch of Italian seasoning or flaky sea salt for garnish.

Instructions
 

  • Wash and thoroughly dry the tomatoes, blueberries, and basil leaves.
  • Drain and pat dry the mozzarella pearls.
  • Thread one blueberry onto each skewer.
  • Add a folded basil leaf.
  • Thread on one mozzarella pearl.
  • Finish with one cherry tomato.
  • Arrange all skewers on a serving platter.
  • Whisk together olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  • Lightly drizzle the olive oil mixture over the skewers.
  • Finish with balsamic glaze, garnish if desired, and serve chilled.
