Ingredients

  • For the Turkey Meatballs:
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or 2 tsp fresh)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for brushing or drizzling)
  • For the Cranberry Sauce:
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for warmth

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat Oven : Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Turkey Meatballs: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, onion, garlic, parsley, thyme, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined; avoid overmixing to keep meatballs tender.
  • Step 3: Shape the Meatballs : Using your hands or a small scoop, form mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs (about the size of a golf ball). Place meatballs evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly brush or drizzle olive oil over the tops for better browning.
  • Step 4: Roast the Meatballs : Roast in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, turning once halfway through, until meatballs are cooked through (internal temperature 165°F / 74°C) and golden brown.
  • Step 5: Make the Cranberry Sauce: While meatballs roast, combine cranberries, sugar, water, orange juice, and orange zest in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until cranberries burst and the sauce thickens (about 10–12 minutes). Optional: add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly; sauce will thicken further as it cools.
  • Step 6: Serve: Arrange roasted turkey meatballs on a serving platter. Spoon cranberry sauce over the meatballs or serve on the side for dipping. Garnish with fresh parsley or thyme if desired.
