Ingredients
  

  • 1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 4–6 slices smoked salmon
  • 1 tablespoon capers (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest or juice (optional)
  • Fresh dill or chives, chopped, for garnish
  • Olive oil for brushing bread
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Toast the Baguette Slices : Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet. Lightly brush both sides with olive oil. Toast for 5–7 minutes until golden and crisp.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Cream Cheese : Spread a generous layer of cream cheese on each toasted baguette slice. Smooth evenly to cover the surface.
  • Step 3: Add Smoked Salmon : Fold or layer smoked salmon slices over the cream cheese. Add optional toppings such as capers, lemon zest, or a squeeze of lemon juice.
  • Step 4: Garnish and Serve : Sprinkle fresh dill or chives over the top. Add freshly ground black pepper to taste. Serve immediately while the toast is crisp.
