Ingredients

  • For the Shrimp:
  • 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to spice level)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • For the Noodles:
  • 8 oz (225 g) rice noodles or spaghetti
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional for depth)
  • 1 tsp chili paste or Sriracha (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Noodles : Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and toss with a tablespoon of butter or sesame oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  • Step 2: Cook the Shrimp : In a large skillet, heat 2 tbsp olive oil and 2 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Add shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes, and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Add soy sauce and lime juice, then toss to coat the shrimp. Remove shrimp from the pan and set aside.
  • Step 3: Make the Garlic Butter Sauce : In the same skillet, add 1 tbsp butter, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and chili paste (if using). Stir to combine and let it simmer for 1 minute to thicken slightly.
  • Step 4: Combine Shrimp and Noodles : Add cooked noodles to the skillet and toss them in the sauce until fully coated. Return shrimp to the pan and toss everything together for another 1–2 minutes.
  • Step 5: Garnish and Serve : Sprinkle with green onions and fresh cilantro. Serve hot with lime wedges on the side.
