Ingredients
For the Meatballs
1 lb (450 g) ground beef or ground pork (or a mix)
1 egg
½ cup breadcrumbs
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
2 scallions, finely chopped
1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon salt
For the Sesame Sauce
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon gochujang
1 teaspoon grated garlic
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (slurry)
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
For Serving
Sliced scallions
Extra sesame seeds
Steamed rice or noodles (optional)
Instructions
Mix all the meatball ingredients until well combined.
Roll into 1-inch balls.
Cook the meatballs in a skillet until browned and fully cooked.
Prepare the sesame sauce by heating all sauce ingredients and thickening with cornstarch slurry.
Add meatballs to the sauce and coat evenly.
Garnish and serve immediately.
