For the Garlic “Spider” Meatballs:
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef, chicken, or turkey
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying or baking)
For the Pasta and Sauce:
- 12 oz (340 g) black pasta (squid ink spaghetti or black-colored pasta)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 jar (about 2 cups) marinara sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
For Decoration:
- Black olives (sliced into strips for “spider legs”)
- Small mozzarella balls or cream cheese dots (for “eyes”)
- Peppercorns or sesame seeds (for pupils)
Mix ground meat with breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic, egg, and seasoning. Shape into balls and cook until golden.
Boil black pasta until al dente.
Heat marinara sauce with garlic, then toss with pasta.
Place meatballs on pasta and decorate with olive legs and mozzarella eyes.
