Ingredients
  

  • For the Teriyaki Beef
  • 1 lb (450 g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mirin or rice wine
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil for cooking
  • For the Salad
  • 4 cups mixed salad greens (lettuce, spinach, arugula)
  • 1 cup cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup bell peppers, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup carrots, julienned
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
  • For the Sesame Dressing
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, honey, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic. Add beef slices and marinate for 15–30 minutes.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook beef for 2–3 minutes per side until cooked through and slightly caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, vegetable oil, honey, ginger, and sesame seeds to make the dressing.
  • On a large serving platter, arrange salad greens, cucumbers, bell peppers, carrots, and green onions.
  • Top salad with cooked beef slices and drizzle with sesame dressing.
  • Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the top and serve immediately.
