Ingredients

For the Hot Chocolate:

  • 4 cups whole milk (or 2% milk)
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for warmth)
  • ¼ cup raspberry or strawberry syrup (for “vampire blood”)

For the Marshmallow Ghosts:

  • 8–10 large marshmallows
  • Melted chocolate or black decorating gel (for eyes and mouth)
  • Toothpicks (optional, for easier placement)

Instructions

  • Make the Hot Chocolate In a medium saucepan, combine milk, heavy cream, cocoa powder, and sugar. Heat over medium-low, whisking until smooth. Once warm, add chocolate chips and stir until completely melted and creamy. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and raspberry/strawberry syrup for the red “blood” swirl.
  • Prepare the Marshmallow Ghosts Use melted chocolate or black decorating gel to draw ghost faces on each marshmallow. Set them aside to dry for a few minutes.
  • Assemble the Drink Pour hot chocolate into mugs. Drop a marshmallow ghost (or two) on top. Drizzle extra “vampire blood” syrup over the top if desired.
