For the Hot Chocolate:
- 4 cups whole milk (or 2% milk)
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for warmth)
- ¼ cup raspberry or strawberry syrup (for “vampire blood”)
For the Marshmallow Ghosts:
- 8–10 large marshmallows
- Melted chocolate or black decorating gel (for eyes and mouth)
- Toothpicks (optional, for easier placement)
Make the Hot Chocolate In a medium saucepan, combine milk, heavy cream, cocoa powder, and sugar. Heat over medium-low, whisking until smooth. Once warm, add chocolate chips and stir until completely melted and creamy. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and raspberry/strawberry syrup for the red “blood” swirl.
Prepare the Marshmallow Ghosts Use melted chocolate or black decorating gel to draw ghost faces on each marshmallow. Set them aside to dry for a few minutes.
Assemble the Drink Pour hot chocolate into mugs. Drop a marshmallow ghost (or two) on top. Drizzle extra “vampire blood” syrup over the top if desired.
